Two-thousand seven was the year of an auspicious occasion of the 80th Birthday Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty the King on December 5, 2007, where all Thais paid their homage to the beloved King. In deference to H.M. the King’s birthday Bangkok Aviation Public Company Limited (BAFS) participated in various activities including monk offering ceremony to rescue cows and buffaloes, installation deference alter, and the posting of Royal picture of H.M. the King and his 80th birthday shield on company premises. BAFS also participated in activities benefiting social causes, such as educational sponsorship to underprivileged children in Ayudhaya, donations to Samut Prakarn Red Cross Charity and Rajaprajanugroh foundation to help victims in the three flood-afflicted southern provinces of Thailand.

On November 22, 2007 marked the 24th anniversary of successful operations and the first full year of operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Also, BAFS supported the government’s policy to provide aircraft refueling services for point to point domestic flights, which return its operations from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Don Mueang Airport on March 25, 2007 with International standard and efficiently services for both airports.

BAFS has confronted many challenges, especially with business competition, the fluctuation in currency exchange rate, the rising cost of aviation fuel, and the dual airport operations of Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang Airport which all directly impacted BAFS’s operating performance. To allay the adverse impact of these factors, BAFS adjusted its operating strategy by utilizing risk-based management to develop control measures and to manage corporate risks and intrinsic risks within an acceptable level or at a level where the potential impact would be minimal.

Each and every successful taking place today and in the future to come are through the combined efforts of the company’s board of directors, management and employees to accomplish their goals in maintaining the leader aviation fuelling services and other related business by integrating quality services, international safety standards, and innovative technology based on the principles of good corporate governance which is the key to develop business efficiency, effectiveness and competitiveness. All their hard work resulted not only in greater shareholder, investor, customer and stakeholder confidence in the company, but also the confidence of all BAFS employees.

I would like to take this opportunity to show my appreciation and gratitude toward all BAFS shareholder, customers, business partners, as well as the board of directors, management, employees, and all other related parties for their trust, confidence and support throughout 2007 and the year to come.
