Bafs alleges dumping

COMPETITION :Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Plc (Bafs) has filed a dumping complaint to the Commerce Ministry's Competition Board against Thai Petroleum Pipeline Co Ltd (Thappline).

JP One Ltd, a subsidiary of Bafs, claims that Thappline, a subsidiary of PTT Plc, has sold jet fuel to Thai Airways International at a price lower than its cost, according to Karun Kittisataporn, the ministry's permanent secretary and chairman of the Competition Board.

JP One claims that Thappline's operating costs have increased by tens of millions of baht after the move from Don Muang airport because it had to lay a new pipeline to the new Suvarnabhumi airport.

It said Thappline was selling fuel at the same price it had quoted at Don Muang, while JP One had to raise its price at the new airport.

Mr Karun said an investigation into the complaint would take about two months.

BAFS shares closed yesterday on the SET at 11.10 baht, up 10 satang, in trade worth 7.65 million baht.
